Are you planning to go to San Antonio, Texas for your next family reunion? If you've been to that city before, you probably fell in love with its charm. If you haven't been to San Antonio, prepare to fall in love! From choosing the time that you will travel to San Antonio to selecting where tasty for your family reunion vacation, here are some ideas that might help you to plan a fun and memorable time for your family.

The Seasons - One great part about San Antonio is that the weather is almost always great. That's true unless there's something dramatic going on, like a hurricane in the coastal areas which could affect San Antonio and the surrounding areas with heavy winds and rains. 

  • If you go to San Antonio in the early fall, the nights may be crisp, but the days will still be warm enough to even swim in your hotel swimming pool.
  • If you have your family reunion during the winter, think about going right after Thanksgiving so that you can see the amazing Christmas lights at the famous River Walk.
  • Spring is gorgeous because of the beautiful bluebonnets and other wildflowers that abound in the hill country surrounding SanAntonio.
  • Summer is hot! The great thing, though, is that there are lots of water parks where you can cool off. Bring sunscreen.

  • Have you ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast? If not, think about doing that when you visit places like Fredericksburg, Boerne or Gruene which are all close to San Antonio.
  • Some of the colleges even open their doors to tourists during the summer, so that might work well if your group is especially large.
